Prof. Wei-Qiao Deng is the group leader of 11T4 at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics. He obtained a BS from Lanzhou University at 1994, a MS from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics at 1997 and a PhD from California Institute of Technology at 2004. After graduation, he worked as associated scientific researcher at Caltech and assistant professor at Nanyang Technological University. At 2009, he joined the faculty of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics as a professor. Thus far, he has published more than 80 publications including Nature Comm., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chemie. Int. Ed., Energy Env. Sci., Nano Lett., Phys. Rev. Lett. etc with citations more than 2000 times. Deng’s research is about materials simulation and design, which includes the multi-scaled computational simulation to screen and design novel materials with desired properties and synthesis of the designed materials accordingly. Currently, his group focuses on developing organic polymeric functional materials for the applications in the fields of clean energy and environment including CO2 capture and conversion, hydrogen storage, solar cell, water treatment, and etc.
